River Street remains closed this week to all traffic while crews excavate the area to install a gas main. The gas main will cross the Makem Bridge and Cochecho River, connecting River Street with Washington Street.

While the work is ongoing River Street will be closed completely each day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., between Washington Street and Henry Law Avenue.

Parking permit holders who need access to the River Street parking areas can do so via the Washington Street side, through the construction zone. Traffic control personnel are on site to help manage traffic.
