City administrative offices, including City Hall, will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, for Labor Day. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Other administrative offices closed on Labor Day include Inspection Services, Community Services on Mast Road, and Facilities, Grounds and Cemeteries offices on Court Street.

The Public Library is closed Saturday, Sept. 5, through Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Recreation facilities will operate on modified schedules during the holiday weekend:

• Dover Arena: Closed Friday, Sept. 4, through Sunday, Sept. 6. The Arena will reopen at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, for Dover Youth Hockey and Granite State Wild practices. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the Arena will be closed for all skating activities while the facility serves as the Ward 2 polling location for the State Primary Election. Normal business hours and skating operations resume Wednesday, Sept. 9.
• Dover Community Senior Center: Closed Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7.
• Indoor Pool: Closed Saturday, Sept. 5, through Monday, Sept. 7. Indoor Pool passes will be valid at the Jenny Thompson Outdoor Pool during the closure.
• Jenny Thompson Outdoor Pool: Open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6. On Monday, Sept. 7, the final day of the season, the pool will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit the Recreation Department website for specific swim times.
• McConnell Center and Fitness Center: Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7.

Trash pickup and curbside recycling will be delayed by one day all week because of the holiday.

Labor Day is a "parking holiday." Metered parking is free on parking holidays, except at the Orchard Street Parking Garage and Transportation Center Lot, where paid parking is required at all times.
