Welcome to Dover Recreation

The Recreation Department plans, implements and supports recreational opportunities that are educational and enjoyable for Dover citizens of varied ages, interests and abilities. These services are provided from the City locations of the McConnell Center, which includes the Dover Community Senior Center, the Dover Indoor Pool, the Jenny Thompson Outdoor Pool, and the Dover Ice Arena as well as various outdoor facilities and parks throughout the City. Our main offices are located at the McConnell Center; 61 Locust Street in Dover.

Tennis - Advantage Kids is offering a Tennis & Yoga program at the DHS courts in July - the flyer can be viewed here.  Sign up is directly with them via their website

Summer Learn to Skate and Youth Intro to Hockey are now available for on-line sign-ups! 

Woodman Park Tennis courts and Pickleball Courts behind the Garrison Elementary School are open.  There will be DHS School teams practicing and having matches at WPS after school during the week beginning the week of March 29th.  Pickleball Courts are reserved for exclusive use by Dover Senior Center members on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8am - noon.  The remaining time is first come, first served.

Summer programs - Camp Kool and Playgrounds will operate on a modified basis in 2021.

The McConnell Fitness center is open at 50% capacity.  This means that the cardio rooms are limited to 3 patrons each and the weight room, Cybex room and dance studio are limited to 7 patrons each.  Cardio equipment will be limited to 30 minutes if there are folks waiting to use a machine.  Please call us with questions 603-516-6401. Masks are recommended but no longer required.

Parks and playgrounds are no longer closed, but an advisory is in effect.  Please remember:
 - Playground equipment is not santized
 - Stay home if you are sick
 - Wash hands before and after use
 - Avoid touching surfaces
 - Use of parks and playgrounds is at your own risk.

Trips range from day and overnight trips all over New England to overnight trips around the world!

You do not have to be a member of the Senior Center to go on these trips - you just have to have a sense of adventure! Most trips offer early sign-ups discounts, include travel insurance and round trip transportation to Logan Airport!  Call Linda at (603)516-6420 for more information.
