Kid's Programs
The stories, games, finger plays, and activities used in story time are designed to foster a love of language and books, introduce standard works of literature for young children, provide your child with an early group experience, encourage an increased attention span, demonstrate new activities for you to enjoy with your child at home and provide a pleasant introductory experience to the library.

STEM Storytime (ages 3-5) | Mondays 10:00 - 10:45am | Our preschool programs are designed for children to learn independence from their caregivers. Each week we will focus on a different STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) topic using books, songs and activities to support the theme. | ||
Multilingual Book Group (grades K-3) | Mondays 4:30 - 5:30pm | Educators from the UNH Community Literacy Center will lead this group which will feature a different language each week. Kids will also participate in an art activity based on the theme. | ||
Family Place Workshop | Tuesdays 10:00 - 11:00am | A five-week program for toddlers and their parents/caregivers, this fun, informal, play-based program provides a rich environment of toys, books and art activities. Families have the opportunity to spend time together, make new friends, and talk one-on-one with a different community resource professional each week. | ||
Family Storytime (all ages with adult) | Wednesdays 10:00 - 10:30am | Children of all ages with their caregivers are invited to attend this program which includes books, fingerplays, songs, and puppets based on a weekly theme. | ||
Arts & Crafts Storytime (ages 3-6) | Thursdays 10:00 - 10:45am | Our preschool programs are designed for children to learn independence from their caregivers. Each week we will focus on a different theme. Books, songs, rhymes, and an art activity will all be part of the fun. | ||
Shake your Rattle and Roll (ages birth - 2 years) | Fridays 10:00 - 10:30am | Join us for a Rockin’ and Rollin’ good time! We will dance to silly songs, sing rhymes, count to 5 with puppets, and rock out with drums and instruments. Featuring a different genre or musical artist each week. | ||
Sensory Storytime (ages 3-6 with adult) | Fridays 10:00 - 10:45am | This program is designed for children with autism, sensory challenges, and/or developmental delays and their caregivers. This small group environment will engage the senses through books, music, movement, and activities. |
If Dover schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, story times will be cancelled (even if the library is open).
