About the park

Morningside Park is located at 29 Riverdale Ave. in the Morningside neighborhood near Garrison Elementary School. In addition to being a neighborhood park, the 2.9 acre city-owned parcel has been used for organized sport practices and informal recreation activities. There was play equipment installed at the park, which was removed in 2024 after being deemed unsafe for use. The city is currently planning upgrades to the park, which you can find more information below.

Morningside Park Rehabilitation Project

The City of Dover is targeting park improvements to Morningside Park, including new playground equipment.

Take survey to help guide improvements

Currently, the 2.9 acre park is open green space, used for organized sport practices and informal recreational activities. Two years ago, unsafe swings and slide playground equipment were removed.

What do you think should be installed in its place? What other amenities and uses should be considered? We invite you to take this short survey.

Project overview and goals:

  • Install safe and modern equipment
  • Improve ADA accessibility
  • Provide active recreation for all ages
  • Community-centered design
