Payment Options

Tickets must be paid within 10 days of being issued or additional fines will be imposed.

Payment can be made by check through the mail using the envelope provided.
Payments (cash, check or credit card) can be made at the Parking Bureau, located on the ground floor of City Hall in the Customer Service Center. The Parking Bureau office hours are Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a 3% surcharge for credit card payments.

Fine Schedule

Pursuant to Dover City Code Chapter 141-23, late fees may be assessed on any parking ticket not paid within 10 days. The schedule for fines is enumerated below:

For all general violations except serious offenses:

Original ticket (first notice): $25
10 days after original ticket, if unpaid (late notice): $35
14 days after late notice: $60
After notification to a collection agency: $60
Minimum court fine: $100

Fire Lane, Access Aisle, Winter Parking and certain other violations:

Original citation (first notice): $60
10 days after original citation, if unpaid (late notice): $75
14 days after late notice: $100
After notification to a collection agency: $120
Minimum court fine: $150

Accessible Parking Space Violations:

Original citation (first notice): $250
10 days after original citation, if unpaid (late notice): $270
14 days after late notice: $300
After notification to a collection agency: $300
Minimum court fine: $300

Winter Parking Violation (more than 5 in a season):

$100 each

Chronic Offender (More Than 5 On-Street Meter Violations For The Year):

Original citation (first notice) $100 each
10 days after original citation, if unpaid (late notice): $120
14 days after late notice: $150
Minimum court fine: $150
