New electricity rates for Dover Community Power take effect on Feb. 1, 2026. While eligible residents are automatically enrolled in the standard Community Power plan, participation is entirely voluntary. Residents have the right to change their electricity supplier at any time with no penalty.

The process to change is straightforward. Using your current Eversource account number, you may opt out and return to Eversource’s default supply service, or switch to a third-party competitive supplier through the online portal or by phone.

Additionally, Dover Community Power offers choices for cleaner energy. You can "opt up" to a plan with significantly higher percentages of renewable or green energy than standard utility plans.

Regardless of who supplies your power — Dover Community Power, Eversource, or another provider — Eversource will continue to deliver electricity to your home and send you one single monthly bill.
