The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will begin daily lane closures on the southbound Spaulding Turnpike in Dover on Monday, Oct. 5, as work continues to demolish the General Sullivan Bridge.
Weather permitting, lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between mile markers 4.2 and 3.6. The closures are expected to continue through approximately Monday, Nov. 16. The lane closures will allow crews to remove the center span of the General Sullivan Bridge.

The work is part of the ongoing demolition of the General Sullivan Bridge between Dover and Newington. Reed & Reed Inc. of Woolwich, Maine, is the general contractor for the $28.4 million project, which is scheduled for completion in summer 2027.
