AARP Smart Driver Course at the Dover Senior Center

AARP Smart Driver™, the newly updated driving refresher course from AARP Driver Safety, will be offered at the Dover Community Senior Center, 61 Locust St., Door #1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. The class will be taught by certified volunteer instructor Lisa Marchi.
Many participants may be eligible for a multi-year insurance discount after taking the course. Check with your insurance agent to see if you are eligible. There are no tests required to pass the course.
Since 1979, AARP Driver Safety has helped more than 20 million people stay safe, educated, and confident on the road. AARP Smart Driver course participants will learn:
- Valuable defensive driving skills
- Proven safety strategies
- How to stay current with the latest driving technologies
- The current rules of the road, specific to your community
- How to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time
This course now includes new videos and updated course content, so you will have the most up-to-date information.
The course costs $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members of AARP. You should plan to bring a bag lunch or snacks to get you through the day as there will be one 30-minute lunch break. You must complete the course to receive your certificate.
