Holiday hours for City offices and facilities; Trash and Recycling schedule

City administrative offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday Nov. 29, 2024, for Thanksgiving. In addition, city administrative offices will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
The Public Library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 29. The Public Library will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
The Recycling Center on Mast Road will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
All Recreation facilities will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The Indoor Pool will also be closed on Friday, Nov. 29. The Fitness Center and Gym at the McConnell Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29. The Ice Arena will be open during regular hours on Friday, Nov. 29.
The Dover Community Senior Center is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 29.
Inspection Services, located at the North End Fire Station, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 29.
Curbside trash and recycling pickup will be delayed one day on Thursday and Friday only.
Public parking holidays
Thanksgiving Day is a parking holiday and no payment at the meters is required, except for the Orchard Street Parking Garage and Dover Transportation Lot, which are metered parking at all times. Downtown parking is also free on Friday, part of the the Plaid Friday initiative, except for the Orchard Street Parking Garage and Dover Transportation Lot.
In addition, parking is free in some locations during the following days:
Shop Small Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024: Parking in the metered spaces at the Orchard Street Parking Garage and Fourth Street public parking lot is free until 5 p.m. All other parking is paid parking, as posted.
Artist Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024: Parking is free at all on-street spaces and most public parking lots. Paid parking is required at the Orchard Street Parking Garage and Dover Transportation Lot.
Holiday Shopping Saturdays, Dec. 7, 14 and 21: Parking in the metered spaces at the Orchard Street Parking Garage and Fourth Street public parking lot is free until 5 p.m. All other parking is paid parking, as posted.
