Dover Police accepting names for Christmas Basket Program

The Dover Police Department is now accepting names, addresses and phone numbers of needy families residing in Dover for the annual Christmas Basket Program. The Police Department conducts this program through Dover Police Charities each December to provide a Christmas dinner to families in Dover.

Last year, 125 baskets of food were distributed to families throughout the community. In addition, a large quantity of food was provided to the Dover Children’s Home and My Friend’s Place.

Those wishing to donate to this program may bring non-perishable food items, canned goods, or monetary donations to the Dover Police Department at 46 Chestnut St. (checks should be made payable to Dover Police Charities). If you cannot deliver your food donations to the police station, call 603-742-4646 and pick up will be arranged.

Employees of the Dover Police Department and their families will prepare and deliver the baskets on Saturday, Dec. 16.
