Chestnut Street closure in effect Monday and Tuesday

On Monday, Aug. 5 and Tuesday, Aug. 6, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Chestnut Street will be closed in the northerly direction between Locust and Washington streets. Northbound traffic will be diverted to remain on Locust Street. Chestnut Street will still be open in the southbound direction.

Northbound traffic seeking access to Saint Thomas Street, the McConnell Center north entrances, and the District Court will be required to detour around the block to approach from the southbound direction.

The closure will allow SUR Construction and Fulcrum Construction to prepare the Chestnut Street sidewalks on Monday and pour concrete on Tuesday. The work is in connection with the Orpheum Apartments development project.
