The winning bidder of the River Street skatepark halfpipe plans to remove the 75-foot-long wooden vert ramp this weekend. The ramp is no longer ridable, as the ramp coping and Skatelite surface have already been removed. The rest of the skatepark remains open.
The city put the ramp out for auction in June. Four bidders competed, with a South Berwick, Maine resident putting in the winning bid of $12. The ramp was auctioned as-is, and the winning bidder is responsible for removing it.
