The Planning Board’s Master Plan subcommittee is working on updating the Master Plan’s Visioning Chapter and has a one question survey for the public: “What is your one wish for Dover’s future?”

Survey feedback is part of community outreach the Vision Chapter Steering Committee will conduct over the coming months as it works to update the chapter. The steering committee, appointed by the Planning Board chair, selected “Distinctly Dover: A Community Vision for 2035” as the chapter’s title.

The survey is available here. Your one wish for Dover’s future could be a specific feature, event, or overall quality; anything that you feel would contribute to a future that is Distinctly Dover.

The city’s Master Plan is its strategic plan and is used to shape city and policy decisions. It doesn’t include rules and regulations; instead, it forms the basis for developing rules and regulations and providing direction for capital investment and long-term budget priorities. In Dover, every ten years or so, the Master Plan’s chapters or elements have been reviewed and updated, usually with one chapter reviewed and updated each year.

The Vision Chapter is the plan’s first chapter used to capture the long-term view of the city and serves as a foundation on which all of the remaining chapters of the Master Plan are created. Updates on the project, and opportunities to provide feedback, will be posted on the dedicated Distinctly Dover project webpage
