Picking up and disposing of pet waste is an important step to helping keep the City of Dover clean and healthy.
Pet waste is a significant contributor of bacteria in surface waters. Pet waste left on City streets, parks and playing fields can quickly turn into unhealthy nuisances that often someone other than a pet owner has to remove. While many pet owners are responsible, help make sure that pet waste is properly managed for the good health and benefit of everyone. Pet waste left on the ground, especially in public areas like parks or playing fields, may pose a risk to children, adults, and even pets.
Let’s work together to keep pet waste out of our water resources and recreational areas. Please do your part and "Scoop the Poop."
Remember, picking up after your pet isn't just a courtesy for those walking behind you; it’s the law.
