The City Council will consider awarding the contract for the reconstruction of Henry Law Avenue and Payne Street at its Wednesday, May 13 regular meeting.

City staff recommends awarding the contract to Northeast Earth Mechanics for $12,836,873. The project scope includes new drainage infrastructure, including an underground stormwater management system, sewer reconstruction and rehabilitation, sidewalk construction and surface restoration of Henry Law Avenue and Payne Street. Part of the funding is contingent on City Council also approving the reprogramming $1,487,551 from previously funded public works projects, which is also on the agenda.

The City Council will also consider an additional $14,600,000 appropriation and authorization for bonding for water treatment upgrades for the French Cross station. The project is eligible for financial assistance through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund with $5,120,000 in principal forgiveness.
