On Monday, Dec. 31, between 4 and 5:30 p.m., the City Clerk and Tax Collection Office will be open to service property tax payments only. No other services will be available in the City Clerk and Tax Collection Office after 4 p.m. on Dec. 31.

All services will be available at the City Clerk and Tax Collector's Office on Dec. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Property tax bills were mailed last month.

The City of Dover's property tax rate for fiscal year 2019 was calculated Nov. 20, 2018 by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration and certified at $24.92 per $1,000 assessed valuation.

The City of Dover's property tax rate for fiscal year 2019 was calculated Nov. 20, 2018 by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration and certified at $24.92 per $1,000 assessed valuation.

The first half of the tax bill is due Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, and the second half is due by June 3, 2019.

There are four components that represent the tax rate: the city portion, local education portion, state education, and Strafford County. The tax rate of $24.92 is broken down as follows:

  • City: $9.37
  • Local education: $10.88
  • State education: $2.06
  • County: $2.61
