On Wednesday, Sept. 30, the section of Washington Street between Central Avenue and Chestnut Street will be closed to traffic from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, and again on Thursday from 7 p.m. to midnight. Traffic traveling north on Locust Street will be diverted onto Chestnut Street. The closure is required so the crane used to for the garage precast concrete panels can be disassembled and hauled off site. The work is being completed during nighttime hours to limit the impact to area residents and businesses.
