Legal Reference

Dover Public Library offers access to both physical and digital resources for legal research.

Our reference librarians provide patrons assistance in identifying and using legal resources within the library's collection. We do not perform legal research, interpret legal materials, or provide legal advice. If legal advice is required, a patron should seek the assistance of a licensed attorney.

In-library resources include:

Westlaw Patron Access Remote

If you can't make it to the library, you can now access Westlaw from home! The NH Law Library is participating in the Westlaw Patron Access Remote Pilot program with Thomson Reuters to allow you remote access to Westlaw. Users are required to complete a OnePass registration and validate their email address before accessing the online content. Research sessions time out after 90 minutes and there are limitations on the number of free downloads.

When you click the Westlaw Patron Access Remote link above, you'll need to complete a OnePass registration before accessing the online content. Click the Create OnePass Profile button and fill out the required fields. You will also need to set up a method for two-factor authentication, which helps to ensure the security of your online account. You will then need to check your email and click the link to validate, but you will only need to do this once.
