Veterans' Credits

The City of Dover offers a few different credits for qualified veterans, their spouse, or surviving spouse. Basic qualifications are outlined below. Please read the full application for details. A DD-214 or applicable military separation paperwork is required with the application. Call the assessing office with any additional questions. More information may be found by reading the applicable RSA as well.

Applications are due by April 15th each year. A response from the Assessing Office is due back to the applicant on or before July 1st. If approved, the exemption will go into effect with the first bill of the new tax year the following December. If the application deadline is missed, we will hold the fully completed application to review for the following tax year.

Once approved, you will be required to recertify every five years. This is typically a one-page form the Assessing Office will send to you in order to verify that you still qualify for the credit(s) you receive. If you have any changes to your home ownership, marital status, etc., please contact the Assessing Office. It may require an additional review.
