Council to receive updates on housing, dredge cell at May 6 workshop

The City Council will hold a workshop session on Wednesday, May 6 to receive updates on housing report recommendations, the closure of dredge cell, and redevelopment at Maglaras Park.

The update on housing report recommendations will include presentations from city planning staff as well as from the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast. Information may also be presented from the New Hampshire Housing and the Dover Housing Authority.

The update will include discussion on the housing landscape in Dover, policies, and land use. It will also touch upon housing production in the city versus the state, and pathways to promote attainable housing.

Community Services staff will provide an update on the process to close the dredge cell located west of Maglaras Park, and the plan to redevelop the park. The dredge cell was constructed in the early 2000s to dispose of material dredged from the Cochecho River.

The workshop begins at 7 p.m. in City Hall's Council Chambers. It will be televised on DoverTV and online, where it will available on-demand.
