Maps highlights the Waldron Central intersection where work will begin Feb 9 2026A city contractor will begin upgrading the Waldron Court pedestrian crossing at Central Avenue on Monday, Feb. 9. Construction will continue Monday-Friday through mid-April, though no work will occur on Friday, Feb. 13.

This project will construct curb bump-outs to reduce the crossing distance on Central Avenue, improving pedestrian visibility in a high-traffic area. New lighting will also be installed to enhance visibility, as well as new drainage infrastructure. The pedestrian crossing at Waldron Court will be shifted slightly to align with Waldron Court. Parking spaces will also be adjusted slightly, with two spaces being permanently eliminated.

When work begins, motorists should anticipate delays through the project area during construction hours, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lane shifts and closures during construction hours are anticipated; flaggers will be present to assist with traffic flow. Parking will also be restricted in the project area during construction hours. Waldron Court and sidewalks in the area are expected to be open for the duration of the project, except for brief closures for the installation of lighting infrastructure.
