Municipal Election is today, Nov. 4

The City of Dover municipal election is today, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in all of Dover's six wards.

At the election, voters from all wards will elect the Mayor, two at-large City Councilors, and one at-large School Board member. In addition, voters in each of the six Dover wards will elect a City Councilor and School Board member and election officers, including a Supervisor of the Checklist, a Moderator, three Selectpersons, and a Ward Clerk. All elected positions are two-year terms.

Meet the candidates for City Council

The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce and New Hampshire Listens held a candidate forum for the competitive City Council races in the Nov. 4 Municipal Election in October.

The forum can be viewed on DoverTV or online at the 2025 Municipal Election website.  

The candidates for Dover School Board in all six wards and at large are running unopposed this year.

Where to vote on Nov. 4

Dover has six polling places for each of the city's six wards. The polling places are as follows:

• Ward 1 - Frances G. Hopkins Elementary School, 78 Horne St.
• Ward 2 - Dover Ice Arena, 110 Portland Ave.
• Ward 3 - Woodman Park Elementary School, 11 Towle Ave.
• Ward 4 - Garrison School, 50 Garrison Road
• Ward 5 - Dover Middle School, 16 Daley Drive
• Ward 6 - Hellenic Center, 219 Long Hill Road
