Transportation Center parking meters begin June 2

The City of Dover reminds drivers that the Transportation Center parking lot on Chestnut Street will be metered beginning June 2. Metered parking at the Transportation Center is 25 cents per hour, one-third the cost of parking downtown. There will also be an option to buy in 24 hour increments at $2.50 each. Thirty-day permits may be purchased at the meters or at the Dover Police Station for $15 per month.

The meters will be available 24 hours a day to allow early arrivals to pay ahead for the next metered parking time period. Parking tickets purchased in advance will only reflect the paid parking hours, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

EasyPark in-vehicle parking meters can also be used in the Transportation Center parking lot. Owners will need to connect to the EasyPark website at www.easyparkusa.com/dover and update their device to add the new zone.

Parking Bureau staff will distribute flyers this week that point motorists to the City’s website, where the hourly, daily and monthly meter options are explained in greater detail. Full color instructions may be found by typing “transportation center” in the search box at www.dover.nh.gov. Station hosts will be trained to answer general questions about the system and each meter provides a phone number for driver’s needing assistance to call.
