The 2018 State Primary election will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Polls in Dover will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are three separate ballots in a primary election: One for registered Republicans, one for registered Democrats, and one for Libertarians.
Voters who are undeclared, and who wish to vote, can declare a party on the day of the primary and will receive that party's ballot. Voters can change party status back to undeclared by signing a form at the polls, following the vote. Voters already registered as Democrat or Republican cannot change party affiliation until one day after the election.

The filing period for the State Primary is June 6 to 15, 2018. The last day for registered voters to change party affiliation is June 5.
