As the traditional date for the annual Dover Pride Clean Up Day rapidly approaches (first Saturday in May), Dover Main Street announced this week the event will not be held this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The goal of Cleanup Day is to bring the community together downtown to help beautify and restore many public locations suffering from the harsh effects of winter; however, the current health emergency makes bringing large groups of people together unwise and potentially dangerous.

Dover Main Street hopes to adapt its efforts by making these sites available to be worked on through the summer, toward the same goal, in a safe and responsible manner. Dover Main Street will announce its plans at a later date.
