The Strafford County Extreme Cold Weather Shelter, located at 276 County Farm Road in Dover, will open today to ensure any unsheltered county residents are safe from extreme, life-threatening cold, according to the Strafford County Commissioners. The shelter is adjacent to Southeastern New Hampshire Services.

The shelter is open from 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 12 to 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14.

Transportation to the shelter is available by shuttle from the Dover Transportation Center (bus station) at 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and as needed on Sunday. COAST bus passes will provided when the shelter closes on Monday morning and the County Complex route resumes.
