Dover Police Chief Anthony F. Colarusso, Jr. announces the following road closures and parking restrictions for the Tails to Trails Dog Walk and 5K Run event, benefitting the Cochecho Valley Humane Society.

Dover Police Chief Anthony F. Colarusso, Jr. announces the following road closures and parking restrictions for the Tails to Trails Dog Walk and 5K Run event, benefitting the Cochecho Valley Humane Society.

On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 11 a.m., the following street closures will be in effect, in the direction and during the times noted below:

  • Central Avenue will be closed for approximately 15 minutes in the northerly direction only from Silver Street to Washington Street, to accommodate the start of the race. Southbound traffic will be permitted. (11 to 11:15 a.m.)
  • Washington Street will be closed for the same period from Central Avenue to River Street. (11 to 11:15 a.m.)
  • Henry Law Avenue and River Street will be closed for the duration of the 5K race. (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

Motorists should expect some delays in the downtown area and also on Court Street, Back Road, Tennyson Avenue, Browning Drive, and Henry Law Avenue which are part of the 5K race route. The start and finish point for this event is at Henry Law Park.

Parking restrictions will be posted on Henry Law Avenue adjacent to the lower section of Henry Law Park on the day of the event.

This event is organized by the Cochecho Valley Humane Society as part of its annual “Tails 2 Trails” Dog Walk fundraiser. The 5K road race is open to runners and walkers, but not dogs. The Dog Walk will be a shorter loop through Henry Law Park.
