Emergency parking ban in place Sunday evening

The City of Dover has declared an Emergency Parking Ban for the downtown area beginning Sunday evening. This ban is in addition to the citywide winter parking ban.

The Emergency Parking Ban will take effect at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 and conclude at 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8. The ban will allow Community Services crews to remove snow downtown. Crews will prepare for snow removal early Sunday evening, before the ban begins.

Any vehicle parked on the street after 9 p.m. and interfering with snow removal will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense. During the Emergency Parking Ban, vehicles may be parked in any city-controlled parking lot, including the Orchard Street lot and Parking Garage, Third Street lot, Locust Street lot, Library lot, Belknap lot, Chestnut Street lot, and the Transportation Center lot.

The general area included in the Emergency Parking Ban encompasses Chestnut Street to the west, Main Street to the east, Sixth Street to the north and Hale Street to the south.
