Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 and each weekday for approximately two weeks, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., access to Second Street will be closed from the Central Avenue end while Unitil performs upgrades to its natural gas distribution system.

Between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Second Street will be open to two-way traffic from the Chestnut Street end. A detour will be posted directing motorists around the block via First Street. A police officer will be on hand at the work site to help direct people. Please use caution while driving on the street.

Second Street closure begins Sept. 2

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 and each weekday for approximately two weeks, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., access to Second Street will be closed from the Central Avenue end while Unitil performs upgrades to its natural gas distribution system.

Between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Second Street will be open to two-way traffic from the Chestnut Street end. A detour will be posted directing motorists around the block via First Street. A police officer will be on hand at the work site to help direct people. Please use caution while driving on the street.

Each evening and night after the work zone is clear, Second Street will revert back to one-way traffic. Vehicles parked on Second Street should still be positioned to face west, in the direction that traffic normally flows.

On-street parking will be restricted on small sections of Second Street to accommodate the excavation.
