Portion of Central Avenue to be closed effective October 20, 2009
Department Posting:Community Services
posted on:10/15/2009
Beginning on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 and extending through Friday, October 24, 2009, weather permitting, traffic will be impacted by road work on Central Avenue in the vicinity of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Utility installation on Central Avenue, just south of Old Rollinsford Road, will require the complete closure of Central Avenue (Route 108) between 7:30AM and 5PM.

Southbound traffic on Central Avenue will be diverted onto Mount Vernon Street between Abbott and Reservoir Streets. Temporary parking restrictions will be in effect in the Mount Vernon Street neighborhood. Northbound traffic on Central Avenue will be diverted around the construction site using a portion of Old Rollinsford Road. Left turns (southbound) will be prohibited from Old Rollinsford Road and traffic exiting Old Rollinsford Road must use the posted detour route.

Access to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital will not be adversely affected.

Dover Police officers and traffic control personnel will be on-site to help manage the flow of traffic and to assist motorists needing access to medical and professional offices on Old Rollinsford Road.

Please plan accordingly.

If you have any questions, please contact the City of Dover Community Services Department at 516-6450.
