Next Dover Discussions - October 21st
Department Posting:City Manager | Executive
posted on:10/13/2009
"Dover Discussions" – a continuing series of quarterly forums allowing for general questions from the public and providing answers related to Dover's city government - will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in the McConnell Center Cafeteria.

"Dover Discussions" is held each quarter to provide an opportunity for residents to come and inquire about city issues and services that are important to them. The format of the "Dover Discussions" forum provides for a more casual setting than at a regular City Council meeting allowing residents the opportunity to meet and speak directly with the City Manager along with elected City Councilors, both At-Large and from Wards. During each discussion forum residents are encouraged to raise questions, voice concerns, share compliments and provide suggestions relating to a neighborhood issue or City services in general.

The fourth "Dover Discussions" forum will be hosted for residents from all Wards of the City. All are invited to attend. City Manager Michael Joyal and City Councilors will be on hand to listen to comments, field questions and provide answers. A brief presentation concerning the ongoing capital improvements planning process will also be provided.

In conjunction with "Speak Out Dover" sessions held as part of the recent Master Plan update and the continuing "Coffee with the Mayor" sessions held periodically over the course of the last few years, the "Dover Discussions" forum series is part of an overall program to further "Dover Community Connections". The overall "Dover Community Connections" program is a coordinated effort to expand outreach to Dover residents and business owners and encourage greater citizen participation in their local governance.

J. Michael Joyal, Jr.

City Manager
