2016 State Primary

The State Primary election was held on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Polls in Dover were be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There were two separate ballots in a primary election: One for registered Republicans and one for registered Democrats.

Voters who were undeclared, and who wished to vote, could declare a party on the day of the primary and received that party's ballot. Voters could change party status back to undeclared by signing a form at the polls, following the vote. Voters already registered as Democrat or Republican cannot change party affiliation until one day after the election.

Sample ballots for all six City wards can be viewed below. There were 12 sample ballots, consisting of one Republican and one Democratic ballot for each ward.
