Project History

The Dover High School and Regional Career Technical Center (CTC) currently employs approximately 192 teachers (both full and part time) with a student population of around 1,300.  

The current facility, located on 44 acres which include parking lots and athletic fields, is approximately 222,000 square feet, 27,000 of which are dedicated to the CTC.  

The School Board approved the current plans and specifications completing the Design Development phase at a special session on Monday, March 21.  The design documents can be accessed here, under meeting minutes.

The Joint Building Committee released a series of consolidated and detailed documents that provide an overview of the process that led to the committee's building option selection, as well as hundreds of pages of supporting documentation.

The Joint Building Committee presented their recommendation to replace the high school and career technical center to the School Board on Monday, July 13, 2015 and to the City Council on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

On Monday, July 20, 2015 the School Board voted 5-1 to approve the recommendation of the JBC to rebuild, as well as the new site, the conceptual plans and to request funding from the City Council.

The City Council held a public hearing regarding the funding request on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. The City Council approved the funding plan at its regular meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.
