Abigail Bibber House

Bibber house.jpg

The Bibber house was built before 1735, probably by John Drew, Jr. Abigail was born on June 14, 1714, just a month after her father, John Drew, Sr. bought the land where the house was built. The house may have been a wedding present to Abigail from her brother as it was deeded to Abigail only, instead of to Abigail and her husband James Bibber. On May 27, 1749, James and Abigail sold the house to Jonathan Pinkham.

Abigail Bibber’s house is the eighth oldest in Dover. When renovations were done, the walls were found to have not less than 20 coats of paint on them.
