Garrison City Garbage Roundup

Help keep Dover clean this fall by volunteering at the second annual Garrison City Garbage Roundup on Saturday, October 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM!

Based on public input, we've selected two spots in the city that were deemed the most in need of a little TLC. Those spots are... *Drum Roll*

Community Trail
Skate Park

Community Trail and Skate park

If you are interested in volunteering to help clean up either site please sign up here.

Signing up helps us to split labor between the two sites and gives us a better idea of what we need for supplies. It's a huge help to the organizers so please make sure you choose a site!

This year volunteers will meet at their site locations. If you sign up to volunteer at the community trail then you will meet at the trailhead, located toward the back of the Dover train station parking lot. Those who volunteer to tackle the skate park will meet there. The skate park is located on River Street, right behind Henry Law Park. Parking is available on both sites.

It is highly recommended that volunteers bring gloves when they come to pick up trash, and those wishing to volunteer at the community trail are also encouraged to bring rakes and pruning shears to help tidy up the paths. Garbage bags will be provided.

In the case of rain, the Roundup will be moved to Sunday, October 15 from 9 AM to 11 AM.

Garrison City Garbage Roundup is sponsored by OWLS, a community service group affiliated with the Dover Public Library and a chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance. The group's mission is to encourage bibliophiles to use their love of reading and wide array of knowledge to become more involved in the community and world. This is done through projects and lectures that hope to inform and educate about important issues. OWLS is an action-only group, which means there are no meetings. Simply attend the activities or lectures that interest you most. Look for the OWLS logo on flyers posted at the library for programs sponsored by the group. All ages welcome.
