Keating and Birchwood Reconstruction

Work on Keating Avenue and Birchwood Place is under way. This project involves redesign of the roadway to include low-impact development practices that will disconnect impervious areas and provide treatment and infiltration of storm water runoff. The project will also include the reconstruction of the existing municipal sewer line.

Upcoming Work

Crews will be working on Saturday, October 28.

Due to encountering more ledge than had been anticipated, work on Stark Avenue will be extended through November 15th. Please seek alternative routes during commuting hours to avoid long delays.

Week of October 30, 2017

  • Crews will continue to work on drainage on Renaud Avenue.
  • Residents on Renaud Avenue should expect short service interruptions as the temporary water service is connected.
  • The contractor will continue to work on sewer line on Stark Avenue.
  • Full roadway reconstruction will continue up Renaud Avenue. This requires removal of unsuitable materials and replacing with structural gravels and geofabric. Vibratory compaction will occur to ensure a well-constructed roadway and you may notice vibrations as this work is completed.
Crews will continue to work on individual driveway connections along the currently paved portion of the project.
  • Utility frames and coverers will be raised to pavement level in the recently paved roadways.

Water and Sewer Service Interruptions

Water service connections are planned on Renaud Avenue. Residents should expect short service interruptions as the temporary water service is connected.

Traffic Patterns

All streets will be closed to through traffic (local traffic only), Monday - Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the duration of the project. Stark Avenue will be reduced a single lane during the construction day, with alternating traffic. We recommend seeking an alternate route when possible. There may be times when the road is not passable from one direction and traffic may be required to go around. On street parking may be limited due to storage of construction materials and equipment.
