Special Training Series for Small Businesses

Trainings will help small businesses sharpen marketing skills. MicroCredit-NH is offering a special training series to help small-business owners in the Dover area sharpen their marketing skills.

The intensive three-hour trainings begin July 8 at the McConnell Center (Room 220), 61 Locust St., and will cover a different topic each month through December. Each class is limited to 10 participants, who will receive hands-on tools and exercises to help them create promotional plans for their businesses.

The trainings will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 6, Nov. 10 and Dec. 8. MicroCredit-NH Leaders may attend for no cost as part of their membership benefits. Charge for all six sessions is $150 for all other MicroCredit-NH members, and $210 for non-members. Per-session cost is $25 for all other MicroCredit-NH members, $35 for non-members.

Reassess Your Business
Learn tools to better redefine your business idea and see the wider context. Review where your business is and where it is going.

August
Marketing Basics: Determine your customers’ needs and analyze your competitive advantages
Gain a better understanding of how you can identify your customers’ needs and determine what they are looking for. Gain a better understanding of who your competitors are, what your business’s advantages and disadvantages are, and how to optimize your strengths and take advantage of your opportunities.

September
Marketing Basics: Target your market
Learn tools that will help you target your specific market and use your marketing mix to satisfy your customers’ needs.

October
Marketing Basics: Overall promotion, advertising and special promotions
Get a better understanding of how marketing can make your image, branding, and promotion work in your favor. Learn how to use other advertising techniques and special promotions to gain exposure.

November
Marketing Basics: Create a promotional plan
Assemble a six-month promotional plan that will be specific, measurable, attainable and timely.

December
Putting it all together
After all of your hard work and effort, this is the opportunity to present your six-month promotional plan to the class and gain valuable feedback from your peers.
